Amazon is selling one of the most energy-efficient space heaters on the market and it only costs £14.69. The Portable Mini Electric Fan Heater only uses 500W, a quarter the energy of usual heaters which use nearer 2000W.

Thanks to the low energy wattage, the mini heater only costs around 14p per hour, compared to 56p per hour for usual heaters, in energy costs. As of October 1, when heating bills go up, that gap widens to 17p instead of 68p per hour, according to an energy cost calculator, reports Staffordshire Live.

The small Amazon heater works by plugging directly into the mains, so effectively the heater body is the plug. The heater has controls on it, but it also comes with a handy remote so it can be controlled from the sofa or bed.

The small heater has mostly five star reviews, with several commending the value of the product. One said: "Packs a punch, surprised about the size but easy to install, easy to use high/low fan settings and not bad at taking the chill out of a room, very pleased."

Another said: "Ideal for warming up a room in between central heating cycles, saves pressing the advance button on the main heating." A third said: "Liked how small it is but yet so effective, able to warm up the room - only for small spaces though, for maximum impact."

The Portable Mini Electric Fan Heater is the most energy-efficient fan on Amazon's bestselling list. It's included in Amazon's Top 50 best-selling kitchen and home appliances.
